Trent Romer

Operating Partner, Sustainability at LongueVue Capital

As an LVC operating partner, Trent will work with LVC portfolio companies to develop and enhance their sustainability capability, bring authentic action, and create long-term value for stakeholders.

For nearly two decades, Trent and his brother, Todd, have co-owned the Clear View Bag Company, a domestic manufacturer of custom packaging founded by their grandparents in 1961. During his time at the helm of the company, Trent has taken an increasingly keen interest in the topic of sustainability, both within his company and industry and beyond. He has taken multiple trips around the country and to Europe to attend sustainable packaging coalition conferences and events and has participated in outreach efforts for Riverkeeper, a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection of the Hudson River and its tributaries. Trent holds a Certificate in Sustainability Leadership from Harvard’s Executive Education program, has attended Al Gore’s Climate Reality Training Corps, and has taken four Circular Economy courses to establish a broader scope of sustainability understanding. In June, 2021, Trent published Finding Sustainability (John Hunt Publishing), a book charting his personal and professional journey to sustainability. The book was featured as required reading in freshman sustainability coursework at the University at Albany, where Trent has also served as a panelist for the university’s ESG symposium.

Trent graduated from Hamilton College with a bachelor’s degree in economics and went on to earn master’s degrees in both education and business administration from the University at Albany.
