Longwood Gardens
Emerson Marine currently serves as the Continuing Education Manager at Longwood Gardens since May 2023. Prior experience includes roles at Horn Entrepreneurship Official, where responsibilities encompassed Program Manager for Student Experience and Program Coordinator for Enrichment from March 2019 to May 2023. Emerson Marine has also been an Instructor at the University of Delaware from September 2020 to May 2023, and held the position of Girl Program Specialist at Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay from June 2018 to February 2019. Earlier roles include Education Coordinator at Please Touch Museum and various positions at Longwood Gardens, including School & Youth Associate and Education Intern. Emerson Marine graduated magna cum laude with an Honors BA in English, concentrating in Film Studies and minoring in Art History, from the University of Delaware in 2015.
Longwood Gardens
In 1906, industrialist Pierre du Pont (1870-1954) purchased a small farm near Kennett Square, PA, to save a collection of historic trees from being sold for lumber. Throughout his life, Mr. du Pont indulged his passion for gardening, turning his farm into a magnificent horticultural showplace. Today, Longwood Gardens is one of the great gardens of the world, encompassing 1,077 acres of gardens, woodlands, meadows, fountains, a 10,010-pipe Aeolian organ and a 4-acre grand Conservatory. Longwood continues the mission set forth by Mr. du Pont to bring joy and inspiration to everyone through the beauty of nature, conservation, and learning. Longwood Gardens offers a breadth of mission programming that includes exhibitions, musical performances by top artists, renowned horticulture education programs, horticulture research, environmental stewardship and cultural and community engagement.
