Heather Sullivan

Heather Sullivan has a diverse work experience, with roles in development, writing, teaching, and editing. Heather is currently the Director of Development at Looking Upwards, Inc. since October 2022. In the past, they were also the Director of Development at The Keystone Group RI from July 2019 to October 2022. Heather is also an accomplished author and poet, having written the poetry chapbook "These Onyx Hours," which was published by Finishing Line Press. Heather has previously worked as a GED Teacher at An Even Start in Newport from September 1998 to July 2019. Additionally, they have been involved in the literary arts field, serving as the editor for The Writers' Circle, Inc.'s online literary arts magazine from June 2013 to June 2016 and as the Assistant Creative Director at The RI Writers' Circle from July 2007 to September 2010. Heather is also the founder of Praying Mantis Press, a publishing company, from June 2009 to June 2010.

Heather Sullivan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Rhode Island in 1994. Heather later pursued a Master of Arts degree in English with a focus on Creative Writing from the same university, completing it in 2001. In 2023, Heather obtained certification as a Dare to Lead Trained professional.
