Katy Boza is an experienced teaching artist with a diverse background in theatre education and arts programming. Currently serving as a Teaching Artist at DePaul University's Creative Root - The Theatre School, Katy has also held prominent roles as Lead Teaching Artist for both Raven Theatre's Take Flight Residency Program and Lookingglass Theatre Company's Arts Quest Summer Program. As Co-Artistic Director and Co-Founder of the Neverbird Project, Katy established a Chicago-based Deaf/hearing youth theatre company, focusing on creating innovative programming for diverse audiences. Previous experience includes social media management at Tangram Learning, a long-term substitute teaching position at Chicago Friends School, and various teaching artist roles, including at the University of Redlands and Alexander Graham Bell School, emphasizing integration of voice and American Sign Language in youth productions. Katy holds a Bachelor's degree in Acting from Missouri State University.

Founded in 1988 by graduates of Northwestern University, Lookingglass Theatre Company is a nationwide leader in the creation and presentation of new, cutting-edge theatrical works and in sharing its ensemble-based theatrical techniques with Chicago-area students and teachers through Education and Community Programs. Guided by an artistic vision centered on the core values of collaboration, transformation, and invention, Lookingglass seeks to capture audiences’ imaginations leaving them changed, charged and empowered. In 2003, Lookingglass Theatre opened in Chicago’s landmark Water Tower Water Works on Michigan Avenue. In 2011, Lookingglass received the American Theatre Wing’s Tony Award® for Outstanding Regional Theatre. In 2016, Lookingglass received the MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions and in 2017, was the recipient of the League of Chicago Theatres’ Artistic Achievement Award.
