Matt Welch, CFA has extensive work experience in both the financial industry and the military. Matt worked as a Vice-President and Senior Credit Analyst at Loomis Sayles from 2001 to present, where they generated investment ideas and provided analysis and strategy for fixed income strategies. Matt specialized in Latin American (LATAM) and Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (CEEMEA) corporate bonds. Additionally, they built strong relationships with corporate issuers and demonstrated strong leadership skills.

Prior to their career in finance, Matt Welch served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps from 1991 to 1999. During their military service, they developed skills in leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and handling confidential information. Matt also gained a global perspective through their travels. Matt underwent training in various areas, including aerodynamics, mechanical and structural engineering, and aviation safety.

Matt Welch, CFA has a strong educational background in finance and accounting. Matt obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance, General from the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. Matt attended this school from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Rhode Island from 1987 to 1991, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting.

In addition to their educational qualifications, Matt Welch, CFA has also obtained certifications in the field of finance. Matt holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute, which they obtained in 2003. Moreover, they have recently completed a Certificate in ESG Investing from the same institution, which they obtained in November 2021.
