Edmond Lau

Edmond Lau has a diverse work experience in various tech roles. Edmond is the Founder and CTO-as-a-Service at Mossa Labs since 2017, where they offer services such as product development, mentorship, technical assessments for M&A, and startup advisory to clients like Biiibo, Velamentis, and Givelify. In 2022, they joined Diminish as a Fractional CTO. Edmond also served as a Mentor in Engineering Leadership at Plato since 2018 and as a Fractional CTO at Key CTO since 2020, providing CTO services to clients such as ThinkOn and Complete Concussion Management. Additionally, they have worked as a Fractional CTO at NuBinary starting from 2021. Moreover, they served as an Advisor at Epilogg: a better obituary from 2020 to 2022 and at Biiibo Inc. from 2021 to 2022. Furthermore, as an Advisor at CoinSmart from 2018 to 2021, they contributed their expertise. Lastly, they served as the VP of Engineering at Dyspatch from 2021 to 2022, where they introduced a 4-day work week and achieved high SLOs but also oversaw layoffs. Edmond Lau pursued their bachelor's degree from 1998 to 2002 at Wilfrid Laurier University. During this time, they completed a BSc with double majors in Computer Science and Mathematics, alongside a minor in Physics. In terms of additional certifications, Edmond obtained the "Generative AI Learning Path" certification from Google in June 2023. Prior to that, they earned the "Data Science Specialization" certification from Coursera in April 2015. Additionally, Edmond completed the "Intro to the Design of Everyday Things" certification from Udacity in March 2014, and the "EP245: How to Build a Startup" certification from Udacity in October 2012. Furthermore, they became a "Certified American Express Architect" through American Express Technologies in 2008 and acquired the "TOGAF 8 Certified IT Architect" accreditation from The Open Group in the same year.
