Chad Lorenz

CEO at Lorenz Clinic

Dr. Lorenz is a Family Psychologist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. Therapy with Dr. Lorenz is marked by a non-pathogenic view of the individual. Symptoms are most often seen as plausible reactions given one’s personal frame of reference and contextual circumstances. In therapy, you’ll notice him saying things like “of course this is happening” and “how couldn’t you react that way” while compassionately changing the status quo. His clients consistently report that he has a non-shaming, empowering, effective therapeutic presence.

Referring clinicians will be interested to know that Dr. Lorenz has received advanced family therapy training at the former Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic as well as specialty training at Washburn Center for Children and the Rape and Sexual Abuse Center in Minneapolis. He is a graduate of the counseling psychology program at the University of St. Thomas and has experience serving clients in a variety of settings with many different treatment modalities. He maintains dual licenses in Psychology and Marriage & Family Therapy. His professional involvement has consisted of presenting on interpersonal attachment and clinical supervision as well as being an active member of various professional organizations including the American Family Therapy Academy. He has studied leadership, policy, and governance as a Policy Fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
