Michael Vesely

Mental Health Professional at Lorenz Clinic

Michael Vesely has worked in numerous settings over his 15 years as a mental health professional. He is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and started his career working in a long-term residential center for children and teens. Additionally, he has worked in mobile crisis response, school-based therapy and both inpatient and partial-hospitalization programs at the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital.

Michael works with a variety of age groups, though he has passion and experience working with teens and families. His clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, family conflict and anger

management.

His education includes a bachelor’s degree from the University of MN-Duluth in teaching psychology and a master’s degree in community counseling from Denver Seminary. Michael’s therapeutic approach is interdisciplinary, using an individual’s strengths beyond a simple diagnosis. He is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-based counseling, trauma- focused therapy and psychodynamic modalities. The interventions are determined by a client’s need and clinical appropriateness. Ultimately, he sees therapy as a holistic experience rather than a one-size-fits-all process.
