Chinonso Ugwumadu

Chinonso Ugwumadu is a distinguished researcher with a focus on condensed matter physics and complex systems, currently serving as a Director's Postdoc Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory since May 2024, following a role as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Ugwumadu's academic journey includes graduate research at Ohio University, where expertise in amorphous materials and machine learning for electrical grid analysis was developed. Previous roles encompass research in coal-based materials at CONSOL Energy, supercapacitor material optimization at Daegu University, and contributions to nuclear materials analysis at the Center for Energy Research and Development. Ugwumadu holds a PhD and MS in Physics from Ohio University, as well as a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Nuclear/Particle Physics and Engineering Physics from Obafemi Awolowo University. Additionally, entrepreneurial ventures include co-founding a retail business and a restaurant, showcasing diverse skill sets in research, teaching, and operations management.
