Nikhil Dandekar serves as a Deputy City Attorney for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office since May 2022, bringing extensive experience in prosecutorial roles. Prior to this, Nikhil worked as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of San Luis Obispo from October 2014 to April 2022, managing a caseload of misdemeanors and felonies, conducting pretrial hearings, jury trials, and coordinating international child abduction cases. Nikhil's earlier positions include a Deputy District Attorney Extra Help role in Santa Barbara County and an externship with the County of Santa Barbara District Attorney's Office focused on preliminary hearings and trials. Nikhil's legal training includes a JD from the University of Illinois College of Law and a BA in History from The University of Texas at Austin.
