Cathy Jackson

Cathy Jackson has a diverse background in marketing and communications. Cathy is currently working as the Marketing Director for the Los Angeles County Bar Association, where they previously held the role of Marketing Manager. Prior to that, they worked as the Marketing Manager for ROUGH Sportswear. Cathy also has experience in the education sector, serving as the Director of Strategic Communications for the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Human Ecology. Cathy previously held the position of Manager of Strategic Communications for the same institution. Before entering the education field, Cathy worked as the Communications Coordinator for the Madison Children's Museum. Cathy began their career as a Senior Copywriter for American Girl, where they were responsible for creating brand-right copy for their catalogs. Cathy also has experience in creative services, having worked as the Creative Services Director for Culture22 Communications Group. Cathy started their career as a Media Specialist for Trekk Cross-Media and as the Public Relations Director for Rockford Art Museum.

Cathy Jackson attended Illinois State University from 1987 to 1991 where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Communications and Sociology. In addition to their degree, Cathy has pursued further education and obtained several certifications. Cathy completed the Witnessing Whiteness: The Need to Talk About Race and How to Do It program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in November 2019. Cathy also completed the Joseph F. Kauffman Administrative Development Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2017. Cathy obtained Plain Language Training certification from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in June 2021. Lastly, they are currently in the process of obtaining an Association Digital Marketing Certificate from the Association Academy, with an expected completion date in 2022.

The mission of the Los Angeles County Bar Association is to meet the professional needs of Los Angeles lawyers and advance the administration of justice. Association Goals: 1. To aid our members in the business of their practices, we afford law practice management tips and training, as well as numerous discounts on a broad range of items, from insurance to cell phones. 3. We also make a difference in our members'​ professional lives by affording opportunities to improve the system of administration of justice, whether working with judges on court improvement projects or with the Legislature on improving our laws. 4. We make a difference in the greater Los Angeles community by supporting major legal services programs, such as Public Counsel and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, as well as our own projects to provide free legal services to thousands of people each year, including battered women, immigrants and people living with AIDS and HIV. 5. We help people find lawyers to represent them, as well as providing a wide range of dispute resolution services
