Amy Shekarchi

Amy Shekarchi has extensive experience in the healthcare field, with a focus on pediatrics. Amy has held various roles at the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, including Interim Director of Pediatrics at High Desert Health Group, Pediatric Primary Care Director at Olive View-UCLA, Resident Continuity Clinic Director at Olive View-UCLA, and Interim Director of the Strong, Healthy and Resilient Kids (SHARK) Program. Amy has also worked as the Clinical and Academic Programs Director at UCAAN and as Co-Director of ACEs-LA, a program aimed at building community resilience through ACEs screening and treatment. Amy has a teaching role at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and has served as the Pediatrics Medical Student Site Director at Olive View-UCLA. Additionally, Amy has been a member of the CALQIC Evaluation Team at the University of California, San Francisco and worked as a Pediatric Resident Physician at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. Amy also has internship experience at the American Academy of Pediatrics in federal affairs.

Amy Shekarchi received a Bachelor of Journalism degree in Print Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin in 2009. Amy then pursued a medical degree and graduated as an M.D. from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2013. In 2016, they obtained a Pediatric Board Certification from the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). Amy furthered their education by completing a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Policy and Administration, with a focus on Maternal and Child Health, from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health from 2018 to 2020.
