Dana Vanderford

Associate Director, Homelessness Prevention | Housing For Health at Los Angeles County Department of Health Services

Dana Vanderford has a diverse work experience, ranging from roles in public affairs, education, and homelessness prevention. Dana is currently working as the Associate Director for Homelessness Prevention at the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. Prior to this, they served as the Homeless Policy Deputy for LA County Supervisor. Dana also worked as a Fellow in Public Affairs at Coro Southern California and as a Corps Member Advisor for Teach For America. In addition, they have experience as a teacher, where they were recognized as the 2015 L.W. Higgins High School Teacher of the Year and implemented initiatives to expand access to challenging coursework. Early in their career, they worked as a Museum Educator and Special Events Coordinator at the Austin Children's Museum.

Dana Vanderford received a Bachelor's degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from The University of Texas at Austin in 2013. Additionally, Dana obtained certifications in Secondary ELA Education from both the Texas Education Agency and the Louisiana Department of Education in the same year.
