Kenny Lawrence

Chief Stationary Engineer at Los Angeles County Internal Services Department

Kenny Lawrence has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several decades. Kenny began their career in 1984 as a Mechanical Engineer in the US Navy, where they were responsible for operating and maintaining power plant equipment. Kenny also supervised engineering operations on the USS Denver during preparations for the Iraq War. In 1997, they transitioned to the role of Recruiting Manager, where they planned and supervised recruiting functions for the Navy in the Los Angeles area, receiving numerous awards for their excellence in recruiting. In 2006, they joined the L.A. County Sheriff's Department as an Assistant Chief Engineer, overseeing the operation and maintenance of multi-million dollar equipment, implementing new leadership styles, and improving plant performance. Finally, in 2017, they became the Chief Stationary Engineer at the Los Angeles County Internal Services Department.

Kenny Lawrence completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Cum Laude degree in Business Administration and Management from Cal State University Bakersfield, from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained an AS degree in Business Administration Magna Cum Laude from Antelope Valley College, from 2010 to 2014. Additionally, they hold a certification from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a Universal Technician.
