Milena Acosta serves as the Associate Director of Community Engagement at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, a position held since December 2014, where responsibilities include implementing community engagement strategies, forging partnerships, and ensuring outreach efforts align with the Museum’s mission. Acosta has advanced through various roles in community engagement management, overseeing Mobile Museums outreach programs and developing educational curriculum focused on STEM and marine science. Participation in the competitive Lead LA 5 cohort in 2022-2023 enhanced leadership and management skills. Prior experience includes significant roles at the Aquarium of the Pacific in education outreach, culminating in a Master of Arts in Museum Studies and Non-Profit Management from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Marine Science from Loyola Marymount University.
