Karmena Pleasant is a seasoned Trial Attorney with extensive experience in child advocacy and legal representation within the foster care system, currently serving at Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers since February 2020. Previously, Karmena held similar roles at the Children's Law Center of California and Advocates for Children of New York, representing children and families in complex legal matters such as special education and disability rights. Karmena’s background also includes leadership in business and legal affairs at L&L Management, as well as various legal internships focused on education, civil rights, and homelessness. Karmena holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, a Master's Degree in Urban Education Policy from Trinity Washington University, and a Bachelor's Degree from Spelman College.
