Dr. Alexandra C. Duran

Dr. Alexandra C. Duran has a diverse work experience spanning various leadership roles in education and community organizations. Dr. Alexandra has served as Vice President at Los Angeles Harbor College since 2023 and as a member of the Board of Directors at Humanitarian Outreach for Migrant Emotional Health (HOME) and Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF).

Prior to these positions, Dr. Duran was the Dean of Workforce & Economic Development at San José - Evergreen Community College District from 2015 to 2023, where they led initiatives such as the Silicon Valley Career Pathways project. Dr. Alexandra also served as the Executive Director/VP for Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Innovation in an interim role.

Before joining the San José - Evergreen Community College District, Dr. Duran held leadership positions at Evergreen Valley College and Foothill College. At Evergreen Valley College, they were the Dean of Student Success and oversaw programs and strategies to enhance student persistence and academic success. At Foothill College, they held various roles, including Director of EOPS/CARE and Community Program and Director of College and Career Connections. During their time at Foothill College, they also served as an Outreach & Retention Specialist and Community Liaison.

Dr. Duran's work experience also includes roles at the Early Head Start Program, Four Winds Indian School, and Butte Community College, where they served as an interpreter, translator, program coordinator, and supervisor.

Throughout their career, Dr. Alexandra C. Duran has demonstrated a commitment to education, workforce development, and community engagement.

Dr. Alexandra C. Duran has a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership from Abilene Christian University. Dr. Alexandra also holds a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University. Additionally, they have a Master's degree in Business Management from National University. Dr. Duran received their Bachelor's degree in Communication Design - Media from California State University, Chico, and an Associate degree in University Studies from Butte College.
