Bryan Brown has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and positions. Bryan began their career at the University of California, Santa Cruz as a Residential Advisor, where they supervised a hall of 28 residents and organized various events. Bryan then worked as a Corps Member and later as a Civic Engagement Project Leader at City Year Los Angeles. At the Jewish Theological Seminary, Bryan served as an Administrative Assistant in the Center for Pastoral Education. Bryan later took on the role of Assistant at WonderWork. Bryan also had a brief stint as a Men's Shoes Sales Associate at Macy's Herald Square.
From 2013 to 2018, Bryan was self-employed, working as the creator and content producer of an art and exploration project called Pig in a Park, documenting a pig's journey through the parks of NYC. Bryan then joined New York University School of Law as a Programs Manager for the Public Interest Law Center and the Bernstein Institute for Human Rights.
Most recently, Bryan has been working at the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, where they serve as the Associate Director of Data Management. In this role, they directly supervise managers and employees responsible for maintaining the city's homeless services database. Bryan also leads initiatives, such as the annual Homeless Count revamp, and collaborates with stakeholders to implement data capture and reporting solutions.
Throughout their career, Bryan has showcased their leadership, coordination, and project management skills, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve objectives and ensure progress towards project goals.
Bryan Brown (he/him) holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree specializing in Social Impact, Innovation, and Investment from the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, completed from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from the University of California, Santa Cruz, from 2007 to 2011. Additionally, Bryan has obtained certifications including the Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and a Certificate in Fundraising from New York University.
