James Alva

James Alva is the current Director at the Los Angeles LGBT Center. James has previously worked as Sr. VP & Market Leader at Citi, where they were responsible for managing Citi's Community Development efforts throughout Southern CA and Texas. James was promoted within three years to manage more territory (TX) in addition to Southern CA as well as asked to lead Citi’s largest philanthropic program in the U.S. – 48 cities and in partnership with the Mexican Consular system. James was also active on various boards helping Citi become more visible among key stakeholders by applying corporate philanthropy strategies.

James Alva holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Stanford University and a Certificate in Diversity and Leadership from Cornell University. James also has a certification from Cornell University in Diversity and Inclusion.
