Principal Librarian II at Los Angeles Public Library

Karen Pickard-Four is an experienced librarian currently serving as Principal Librarian II in the Library Experience Office at the Los Angeles Public Library since June 2006. This office focuses on creating a safe and welcoming environment by connecting library staff with patrons and collaborating with security and social services. Throughout a diverse career, Karen has held multiple leadership roles, including Acting Principal Librarian II and East Valley Area Manager, overseeing operations across 11 branch libraries. In addition, Karen participated in the Innovative Leadership Program, which aims to nurture future library leaders. Educationally, Karen holds a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from San Jose State University.
