James MacRae is the current Manager of Video for the Los Angeles Rams. Prior to their current position, James held various positions in football technology and video production.
James began their career in 2010 as a Student Video Assistant for the University of Virginia Football team. In this role, they assisted the team’s video staff in filming and editing game footage. James also created video documentation of processes for internally distributed instruction manuals. In 2012, James interned at Micro-Ant LLC where they assisted the Chief Operating Officer and Electrical Engineering team. James worked with microcontrollers, circuits, and GPS antennas in the design of a BGAN antenna.
In 2014, James became the Football Technology Assistant for the Jacksonville Jaguars. In this role, they assisted the coaching staff with all football technology needs, including video analysis and practice film breakdown. James also created video content for the team’s website and social media channels. In 2015, James became the Director of Coaching Video Technology at the University of Virginia Football team. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of the team’s video program, including game film exchange with other teams and creating video content for recruiting purposes.
James has a passion for football and video production. James is a dedicated worker who is always looking for ways to improve their skills and knowledge.
James MacRae has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Virginia.
James MacRae reports to Daniel Dmytrisin, Director, Video. They are on a team with Kimo Shearin - Coordinator, Video, Colby Yanagi - Manager, Video, and Lauren Blonien - Coordinator, Video.
