Steven Katz

Steven Katz is an accomplished educator and law enforcement professional with extensive experience in the field of justice and public safety. Since August 2012, Steven has served as an Associate Professor in Administration of Justice at Los Angeles Southwest College while also holding positions as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Los Angeles Trade Technical College and West Los Angeles College since February 2016 and August 2008, respectively. Prior to academic roles, Steven had a distinguished career with the LAPD as a Detective III from July 1986 to February 2018 and as a Deputy Sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department from January 1984 to June 1986. Steven holds a Master of Arts in Negotiation & Conflict Management from California State University-Dominguez Hills, along with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Studies: Vocational Arts (Public Safety) and an Associate of Arts in General Studies from California State University, Long Beach and El Camino College, respectively.
