Nicole Vas

Nicole Vas is an experienced Senior Art Director at the Los Angeles Times since January 2020, where responsibilities include designing main news, California, business, and opinion pages under tight deadlines. Previously, Nicole held positions as Senior News Designer at The Hill, focusing on page design and editorial illustrations from October 2017 to December 2019, and Designer II at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK, responsible for designing daily covers and graphics from July 2013 to October 2017. Earlier experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant role at S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and internships with the Syracuse New Times, The Daily Journal Corporation, and TOKYOPOP. Nicole holds a Master of Arts in Magazine, Newspaper and Online Journalism from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts in Art from UCLA, alongside minors in Comparative Literature and Linguistics.
