Sandhya Kambhampati

Sandhya Kambhampati is an accomplished data journalist and educator currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California since August 2024, teaching a course on investigative and data journalism. Additionally, Sandhya is a Board Member of the Asian American Journalists Association - Los Angeles and has held the position of Data and Graphics Reporter at the Los Angeles Times since May 2019. With a background that includes significant roles at ProPublica Illinois, Correctiv, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and other prominent media organizations, Sandhya has focused on data analysis, visual storytelling, and investigative reporting. Achievements include winning the Deutscher Reporter Preis for Innovation and First Place in Data Journalism from the Education Writers Association Awards. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University and a minor in Spanish.
