Jacob Haik has extensive experience in various roles related to sustainability, compliance, and public service. Jacob is currently working as the Director of Sustainability & Compliance at Los Angeles World Airports. Prior to this, they served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Office of Councilman Joe Buscaino in the City of Los Angeles, where they managed field operations and public work projects. Jacob also worked as a Board Consultant at the Southern California Air Quality Management District, assisting in representing the City of Los Angeles. Jacob Haik has also held positions as the Chief of Staff for the Office of Board Member Richard Vladovic in the Los Angeles Unified School District and as the Director of Environmental Affairs for the Office of Councilwoman Janice Hahn in the City of Los Angeles. Overall, their experience spans a wide range of responsibilities in sustainability, public service, and compliance.

Jacob Haik attended the University of California, Santa Barbara from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Prior to that, from 1995 to 2000, they studied Chemistry at the Los Angeles Community College District and obtained an Associate of Arts degree. Jacob also attended Banning Senior High School from 1993 to 1994 and Nathaniel Narbonne Senior High School from 1991 to 1993. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained various certifications, including CPR/AED Certification from LAFD in September 2022, California Native Plant Landscaper from Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers and Native Plants in 2021, Construction Project Management from California State University-Dominguez Hills in 2011, DBIA - Design Build Institute of America from Design-Build Institute of America in 2011, and Clean Air Congress from South Coast Air Quality Management District in 2008.
