Ramesh Nathan, MD, FIDSA has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of infectious diseases and healthcare management. Ramesh has worked at various prestigious institutions and held significant leadership positions.

Dr. Nathan started their career at Cedars-Sinai, where they completed their internal medicine internship and residency. Following that, they pursued a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at UCLA Health.

Ramesh then joined Mark H Mazur MD & Barry Statner MD A Professional Corporation as an Infectious Diseases Physician, where they provided clinical care to patients.

In 2005, Dr. Nathan became a part of Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center. Here, they held multiple roles including Vice Chief of Staff and later Chief of Staff. Ramesh also served as the Program Director for the Transitional Year Residency Program, where they guided medical school graduates in pursuing careers in various specialties. Additionally, they were the Director of Infectious Diseases in the Internal Medicine GME program, overseeing the curriculum and receiving faculty teaching awards. Ramesh was also actively involved in quality improvement initiatives as the Chairman of the Quality Forum and Sepsis Operations Committees.

Dr. Nathan's expertise in infectious diseases led him to join Adventist Health, where they served as the Medical Director for Infection Prevention and Hospital Epidemiology. Ramesh implemented and managed Antimicrobial Stewardship programs, leading to a significant reduction in antimicrobial use and promoting a culture of patient safety.

In 2016, they joined TeleMed2U as a Physician, providing telemedicine services for infectious diseases consultations, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection prevention at rural and critical access hospitals.

In 2023, Dr. Nathan became the Medical Director for California at METRO INFECTIOUS DISEASE CONSULTANTS. Ramesh oversees infectious disease consultations, manages educational and research activities, and leads the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention teams at Los Robles Health System and Adventist Health Simi Valley.

Throughout their career, Dr. Nathan has demonstrated a commitment to patient care, education, and improving healthcare outcomes in the field of infectious diseases.

Ramesh Nathan, MD, FIDSA has a strong educational background in medicine. Ramesh obtained their Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences from 1996 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree (BS) in Chemistry from The George Washington University, as part of a seven-year BA/MD program, from 1993 to 1996. Ramesh received their High School Diploma from Viewpoint School in 1993. Ramesh Nathan has also achieved additional certifications, including Subspecialty Certification in Infectious Disease in 2015 from the American Board of Internal Medicine, and Diplomate status in the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2013.
