Joke Mabadeje

Joke Mabadeje has worked in various roles related to cybersecurity and information security governance.

Starting in 2011, Mabadeje worked as a Strategy Officer for Project Corvus at Guaranty Trust Bank plc. Then, from 2011 to 2014, Mabadeje served as an Access and Authorization Officer at the same bank.

In 2014, Mabadeje moved on to the role of Information Security Governance and Strategy at Guaranty Trust Bank plc, where they were responsible for evaluating legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining certifications, developing security policies, and improving the information security program.

From 2020 to 2021, Mabadeje worked as a Unit Head for Cybersecurity Governance, Risk & Compliance at Fidelity Bank PLC. In this role, they oversaw cybersecurity programs, compliance management, and risk assessment. They also ensured compliance with cybersecurity standards and developed strategies for risk management.

In 2021, Mabadeje joined LOTUS Bank as the Head of Cybersecurity. Their responsibilities included setting the culture for information security, coordinating security functions, managing compliance, and classifying information assets.

Currently, Mabadeje is the Head of Cybersecurity Governance, Risk & Compliance at Optimus Bank, a position they started in 2022. As the head, they are responsible for cybersecurity governance, risk assessment, and compliance.

Throughout their career, Mabadeje has demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, information security governance, risk management, compliance, and strategic planning.

Joke Mabadeje completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from the University of South Wales from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Information & Communication Technology from Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, between 2004 and 2009. Joke Mabadeje also holds additional certifications, including CCNA CyberOps from Cisco, and certifications from ISACA such as CERTIFIED INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER and Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA).
