Charles D. Banner has extensive experience in the field of mathematics education. Charles D. began their career as an Instructor of Mathematics at Louisiana Delta Community College in August 2005 and held this position until July 2010. During their time at Louisiana Delta, Charles served as the Faculty Council Chair for multiple academic years and developed the current instrument used for faculty evaluations. Charles D. also organized fundraising efforts for the college's participation in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk for two years. In August 2010, Charles was promoted to the role of Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the same institution, where they continue to work as the Mathematics Department Head as of January 2023. Prior to their time at Louisiana Delta, Charles worked as a Dual Enrollment Instructor at Southern University at Shreveport from August 2003 to May 2005. In this role, they taught college-level math courses both at the university's main campus and at local high schools to qualified juniors and seniors.

Charles D. Banner earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mathematics at the same institution and completed it from 1996 to 1998.
