Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra
Alex Mayon is an accomplished trumpet musician and educator with extensive experience in both performance and teaching. Since September 2015, Alex has served as the Acting Principal Trumpet and a substitute musician for the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. Concurrently, from May 2016, Alex has worked as a trumpet instructor and freelance musician. Previous teaching roles include a position as a Brass and Piano Instructor at the New Orleans Academy of Music from September 2015 to December 2017 and as a Teaching Assistant at the Eastman School of Music from September 2013 to May 2015. Alex holds a Master of Music Performance and Literature degree in Trumpet from the Eastman School of Music and a Bachelor of Music Education degree in Trumpet from Loyola University New Orleans.
