Brad Wellons is the Regional Manager at the Louisiana Public Health Institute. Brad has over 20 years of experience in the public health field, with a focus on grant writing and program management. Brad has led the Florida Parishes Human Services Authority in establishing a Federal Quality Healthcare Center (FQHC) with a HRSA New Access Point (NAP) grant and establishing a new state and federally approved non-profit, standalone 501(c)3 foundation. The new Florida Parishes Health Foundation will position FPHSA and the new FQHC clinic to compete for and obtain grants and other funding for a primary care clinic, parish level public health programs, additional funding to fight the opioid crisis at the local level and tackle urgent mental health challenges across the Florida Parishes. Prior to their work with the Florida Parishes Human Services Authority, Brad served as the Program Manager at the Louisiana Department of Health's Office of Behavioral Health, administering an $8.2M federal STR Opioid grant. Brad also has experience as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at LSU Health Sciences Center.
Brad Wellons has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Mississippi College School of Law, and is currently a Ph.D candidate at University of Kentucky's Martin School of Public Policy & Administration, studying public administration. Brad also holds a Master's Degree in International Relations and Economics from the University of Kent, and a Bachelor's Degree in Brad'story and Political Science from Millsaps College.
