Phil Jones has extensive work experience in the field of land acquisition, planning, and housing. Currently, they serve as the Head of Land & Partnerships at Lovell Partnerships Ltd, where they are responsible for managing the land acquisition strategy and securing residential land opportunities. Phil also plays a key role in establishing and maintaining relationships with local authorities and affordable housing providers. Prior to this, Phil worked as the Land & Planning Director at Thirteen Group and as a Senior Planning & Enabling Manager at Homes England, where they focused on resolving planning and infrastructure issues for large-scale development projects. Phil also has experience as a Planning Director at Lichfields UK, where they provided expertise in land promotion and policy development. Earlier in their career, Phil held various positions in strategic planning and housing management at organizations such as Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Newcastle City Council, and One North East. Additionally, they have served as a Parent Governor at Gosforth East Middle School and is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Phil Jones attended Durham Johnston Comprehensive School from 1987 to 1994, where they completed their GCSEs, AS Level, and A-Levels. Phil then enrolled at Newcastle University from 1994 to 1997, earning a BA (Hons) in Town Planning. From 1997 to 1999, they continued their studies at Newcastle University and obtained a Diploma in Town Planning. In 2011, Phil Jones attended Teesside University, where they completed a Certificate in Advanced Professional Development with a focus on Management in the Public Sector from 2011 to 2012.
