Diego Leonardo

Diego Leonardo is the Director at Lowell Community Health Center. Prior to that, they were the EHS & Lab Operations Manager at SmartLabs from January 2022 to August 2022. In this role, they developed relationships with client labs and acted as a trusted advisor. Diego also spoke with clients and generated ideas for ways that SmartLabs could improve efficiency and productivity in their laboratory operations.

In addition, Diego oversaw lab equipment purchases, including price negotiation and installation. Diego also coordinated and ensured proper maintenance, repair, calibration, and certification of lab equipment. Diego was also responsible for training all clients on existing and new technologies both when they join our community and as needed.

Diego is committed to ensuring full compliance with Environmental Health and Safety programs and regulations. Diego also ensures that all equipment databases and other documentation (including inventory and list of Safety Data Sheets of hazardous, corrosive, or flammable chemicals that enter the facility) are up-to-date. Lastly, Diego participates in the investigation of incidents, near misses, and property damage incidents.

Diego Leonardo holds a Master of Business Administration from Questrom School of Business at Boston University. They also hold a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Laboratory & Clinical Sciences from Boston University. Diego Leonardo began their educational career by obtaining an Associate's degree in Biotechnology from Middlesex Community College. They also hold a Tecnico en Radiologia e Imagenes Diagnosticas from Universidad Galileo. Diego Leonardo has also received certification from Middlesex Community College in Student Commencement speaker and Biotechnology Certificate.
