Gerard van Belle

Gerard van Belle is an accomplished astronomer with extensive experience in the field of astrophysics. Currently serving as the Director of Science at Lowell Observatory since August 2011, Gerard has previously held significant positions including PRIMA Instrument Scientist at the European Southern Observatory and Research Scientist at Caltech. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Optical Engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Gerard van Belle earned a PhD in Physics from the University of Wyoming, an MS in Physics from The Johns Hopkins University, and a BA in Physics-Astronomy from Whitman College.
