Harsh Dubey

Harsh is the General Manager at Lowercarbon Capital, where he supports the partners in investment diligence, keeps an eye out for badass climate entrepreneurs, and handles all manner of internal projects.

Harsh decided to spend his career combating climate change after spending ten weeks on the ground researching the impacts of changing rainfall patterns in drought-prone Maharashtra. During a subsequent stint at Founders Fund, he fell in love with working with early stage entrepreneurs and companies.

Prior to joining Lowercarbon, Harsh worked in a number of roles spanning the intersection of sustainable economic development and finance. He researched and contributed to chapters on climate policy, nuclear security, and global health for “The Survival Nexus: Science, Technology, and World Affairs,” by Dr. Charles Weiss, the first Science and Technology Advisor to the World Bank. He also researched outcomes-driven contracting mechanisms for the federal government and lessons from the nation’s first Environmental Impact Bond for Sonal Shah, Director of the Office of Social Innovation in the Obama White House.

Before that, Harsh won numerous fellowships to study the impacts of mobile money and rainfall insurance interventions in Kenya, political models for irrigation reform in Andhra Pradesh, and community-driven water conservation methods in drought-prone areas of Maharashtra.

Harsh graduated magna cum laude from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He also spent a year at St. Catherine’s College at the University of Oxford, where he learned that he wasn’t as good at cricket as he thought he was. Born in India and brought up across three countries, he spends his time hopping across multiple cities as a digital nomad.
