Matt Lane, PhD, is a Principal UX Researcher with over 15 years of qualitative research experience, trained as a cultural anthropologist. Currently, they work as an Independent UX Researcher, focusing on system audits related to POS systems and restaurant app usability. Their past roles include Senior User Experience Researcher at Lowe's Companies, Inc., and a decade-long engagement at UC Irvine, where they conducted extensive ethnographic research on global recycling practices. Matt holds a PhD in Anthropology from UC Irvine, as well as several degrees from the University of Florida and the University of Chicago.
