Jim Lavere

Jim LaVere is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in educational technology and information technology. Currently serving as the Director of Information Technology for Lowville Academy & Central School District since July 2022, Jim has held various positions with Apple Inc. as an Apple Distinguished Educator since 2003, where responsibilities include advising and innovating the use of Apple technologies in academic settings. Previous roles include Coordinator of Educational Technology at Richfield Springs Central SD and Educational IT Leader at Mohawk Regional Information Center. Jim has also contributed as a Professional Development Consultant for NYSCATE, Educational Technologist at Hamilton College, and various technology and teaching positions in different school districts. Jim holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from SUNY IT, a BFA in Graphic Design from the State University of New York at Oswego, and an AAS in Advertising Design & Production from Mohawk Valley Community College.
