Keith Champagne

VP, Student Development at Loyola University Chicago

Keith M. Champagne is the Vice President of Student Development at Loyola University Chicago. Keith previously served as the Vice Chancellor Student Affairs and Athletics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks from December 2017 to June 2021. In this role, they reported directly to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) Chancellor as a member of the Core Cabinet and was responsible for providing leadership and direction for all aspects of enrollment management, athletics, and student affairs. Keith also served as the Chancellor’s consultant on inclusion, diversity, and equity matters.

During their time at UAF, Keith was responsible for developing long and short-range student services strategies while managing multi-million dollar budgets. Keith actively collaborated with the Chancellor and executive members of the cabinet, academic and student services leaders, governance and student leaders, faculty, staff, community campus leadership, and the community to ensure a comprehensive, inclusive approach to serving the educational needs of students and the community. Keith also directed the strategic planning and evaluation of student services to meet the recruitment and retention goals of the university and its campuses. In addition, Keith collaborated with university partners to provide an appropriate array of safety, well-being, and prevention programs to meet the needs of a diverse student body. Keith also developed and implemented a student satisfaction assessment process for continuous improvement in recruitment and retention areas.

Keith has also served on the University of Alaska System Student Services Council with the Vice Chancellors of the other UA System universities to ensure that the perspectives of UAF are represented at a statewide level. Keith has also served on the University of Alaska System Summit Leadership Team.

Keith M. Champagne reports to Jo Ann Rooney, President. They work with George A. Trone - Special Assistant to the President and Liaison to the Board of Trustees, Philip D. Hale - VP, Civic Engagement & Government Affairs, and Paul Roberts - VP, Enrollment Management & Student Success.
