Monica Garcia currently serves as the Hope Chicago Scholars Academic Advisor/Coordinator at Loyola University Chicago, starting in March 2024. Prior to this role, Monica was the Postsecondary Success Program Manager at Gary Comer Youth Center, where guidance was provided to alumni and youth from various schools regarding postsecondary plans and educational opportunities from December 2022 to March 2024. Monica's experience also includes a position as Community Schools Resource Coordinator at Metropolitan Family Services, leading partnerships to deliver after-school programming for students in grades K-8 from November 2021 to November 2022. Additional roles encompassed serving as Head Teacher at Kids Science Labs, Team Leader and Student Success Coach at City Year Chicago, Early Childhood Classroom Intern, and Social Sciences Tutor. Monica holds a Master of Public Administration from Clark University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
