Phil de Joux

Phil de Joux has extensive work experience in various roles, primarily in government relations, strategic engagement, and corporate affairs. Phil is currently working at Lyttelton Port Company as the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. Prior to this, Phil held roles such as General Manager Engagement & Sustainability and Strategic Engagement Manager at the same company. Before joining Lyttelton Port Company, they served as the General Manager for Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce and as the Director of The Guild Government Relations & Campaigns. Additionally, Phil has worked at Air New Zealand as the Head of Commercial Projects and the Head of Government and Industry Affairs. Phil also held significant positions in the Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff for both. Earlier in their career, Phil worked as the Director of Research and Senior Researcher at the National Parliamentary Research Unit, as well as a Research Officer. Phil also gained experience as an Executive Assistant at Parliamentary Services. Phil has a diverse background and a wealth of experience in leadership and government-related roles.

Phil de Joux began their education in 1995 at the University of Canterbury, where they pursued a dual degree in LLB/ BA (Political Science). Phil completed this program in the year 2000. In 2003, Phil attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for a Hansard Scholarship Course.
