Mendes holds a Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language from the University of Gdansk and a Master's degree in Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism from Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego i Sportu im. Jędrzeja Śniadeckiego w Gdańsku.
