Kate Spikes

Kate Spikes has over 17 years of work experience, with a strong background in finance and accounting. Kate began their career at Deloitte & Touche, where they worked as a Staff Auditor before being promoted to Senior Auditor. In this role, they were responsible for planning engagements, performing test work, and reporting findings of audits to clients and third parties.

After three years at Deloitte & Touche, Kate joined Provident Resources Group as an Accounting Manager. Here, they were in charge of the daily operations of the accounting and payroll departments, and they supervised a team of four employees.

In 2006, Kate transitioned to the LSU Foundation, where they held various roles and climbed the ranks. Kate started as an Associate Director of Business Affairs before being promoted to Director of Financial Accounting and Reporting, then to Controller, and later to Assistant Vice President of Financial Services. Finally, they were promoted to their current role as Chief Financial Officer in October 2018. In their position, they oversee the daily operations of various departments, including accounting, bio and gift records, accounts payable, and information and technology services. Kate is also responsible for financial reporting of the LSU Foundation and related non-profit organizations, as well as budgeting and internal audit processes.

Kate Spikes attended Louisiana State University from 1997 to 2001. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Additionally, they also completed a Bachelor's Degree in International Trade and Finance and a Minor in Economics, all from Louisiana State University.
