Chris D'Elia

Chris D'Elia has extensive experience in academia, currently serving as a Professor and former Dean at Louisiana State University since 2009, where contributions are made to the College of the Coast & Environment, focusing on wetland and environmental research. Previous roles include Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies at the University of South Florida, Professor and Interim Vice Chancellor at USF St Petersburg, and Professor and Vice President for Research at the University at Albany. D'Elia has also held a significant position as a Professor and Sea Grant Director at the University of Maryland, and served as Program Director for the Biological Oceanography Program at the National Science Foundation. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Zoology (Ecology & Marine Science) from The University of Georgia and an A.B. in Biology from Middlebury College.
