James Sauls is a prominent theoretical physicist currently serving as Professor and Hearne Chair of Theoretical Physics at Louisiana State University, since August 2022. With a focus on quantum field theories and quantum information science, James also holds the position of Specialty Chief Editor for Condensed Matter Physics at Frontiers Publishing, where James has been influential since May 2013. Previously, James served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Division of Condensed Matter Physics at the American Physical Society from March 2019 to 2023, and played key roles at Northwestern University and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory between 2017 and 2022. James’s extensive academic journey began with a BS in Engineering Physics from the Colorado School of Mines, followed by a PhD in Physics from Stony Brook University, and a post-doctoral fellowship at Princeton University.
