Todd Thurman has a diverse and extensive work experience. Todd started their career at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) as an Aerospace Engineer, conducting shipboard helicopter flight tests and supporting various at-sea flight tests.

Additionally, Todd Thurman has worked in the United States Department of Defense as a Test Director for the Joint Test Support Cell and at Anteon as an Engineering and Site Lead.

Earlier in their career, they worked at the Office of the Secretary of Defense as the Technical Director for the Joint Shipboard Helicopter Integration Program (JSHIP) Joint Test and Evaluation.

Todd Thurman earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1989. Todd later pursued a Master's degree in Management from the Florida Institute of Technology and completed it in 2000. In addition to their formal education, Todd obtained various certifications throughout their career, including Program Management Level I from the Defense Acquisition University in 2008, Senior Executive Management Development Program from NAVAIR in 2000, Acquistion Professional Community (APC) from NAVAIR in 1995, and Systems Planning, Research, Development & Engineering Level III and Test & Evaluation Level III from the Defense Acquisition University in 1994.
