Marla Clayton has over ten years of experience in technical project management and leadership roles. Marla currently works as a Senior Principal Consultant at LTS, where they utilize the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology to provide project management oversight for the Caregiver Support Program and Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) of the Veteran's Affairs Health Portfolio. Marla supports the agile development of the CARMA system on the Salesforce CRM platform, using the DevSecOps Framework.

Prior to LTS, Marla worked as a Principal Consultant at the same organization. In this role, they also provided technical project management support for the Caregiver Support Program and EPMO, contributing to backlog refinement, release train engineering, sprint planning, project metrics and analytics, and budgeting and reporting.

Marla's previous experience includes roles at CliniComp, Intl. where they served as the Director of Project Management and oversaw key internal and external projects through the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Marla also worked as the Director of Application Support, leading a team responsible for configuring and providing technical support for an electronic health record system.

Before that, Marla was an Account Manager and Account Manager Lead at CliniComp, where they managed a team that provided support for Essentris and CliniComp|EHR in medical facilities. Marla successfully implemented the system in several Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, generating significant revenue.

Marla's earlier experience includes working as an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at Central Texas College, where they taught various computer science courses. Marla also served in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital as an Information Technology Specialist, fulfilling roles as a System Administrator and Database Administrator for the inpatient clinical documentation system, Essentris EMR.

Additionally, Marla held the position of Administrative Officer at the Directorate of Information Management, where they provided technical advisory in telecommunications and managed queries for the Telephone Management System (TMS) server and database.

Marla Clayton holds a Master of Science degree and has obtained several professional certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), SAFe Government Practitioner (SGP), and Professional Scrum Product Owner (POPM).

Marla Clayton holds an extensive education background in the field of information technology and project management. From 2008 to 2011, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Information Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2007, Marla completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Information Systems and an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in General Studies at Columbia College. During the same period, they also earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in General Studies from the same institution. Additionally, Marla participated in the RN program at Armstrong Atlantic State University from 1998 to 2000, although it is not specified whether they obtained a degree in nursing.

In terms of certifications, Marla holds multiple prestigious credentials. In May 2011, they obtained the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: Windows 7, Configuration certification from Microsoft. In December 2009, they acquired the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA. More recently, in October 2018, Marla became a certified Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute. Furthermore, they received the Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in July 2021, and the Certified SAFe® 5 Government Practitioner certification from the same institution in October 2020.
