Charles Humfrey

Charles Humfrey is an accomplished professional in toxicology with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as a Senior Regulatory Toxicologist at The Lubrizol Corporation since August 2015, Charles leads toxicology efforts across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, focusing on safety assessments and regulatory compliance for REACH. Prior experience includes a role as Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca UK Ltd, where Charles contributed over 17 years to drug discovery and development in various therapeutic areas. Charles also served as a Senior Research Scientist at the MRC Institute for Environment and Health, managing projects related to environmental substance risks, and began the career as a Research Associate at the Institute of Occupational Health, resulting in a PhD in occupational toxicology from the University of Birmingham, where an MSc in Toxicology was also completed. Charles's educational foundation includes a formative period at King's School in Rochester, Kent.
