Phat Doan

Phat Doan has a diverse work experience. Phat started as a Health Information Specialist at the University of Utah Health in 2005 and then served in various roles in the Army National Guard from 2007 to 2014, including Cryptologic Team Leader and Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices Team Leader. After that, they worked as an Infectious Diseases Research Associate at the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2013-2014. In 2015, they joined McKinsey & Company as an Associate and then moved to Episource LLC in 2016 as a Product Development Manager. Phat further advanced their career at Intermountain Healthcare, where they worked as a Senior Data Scientist from 2017 to 2020 and later as the Lead of the Enterprise AI Center of Excellence from 2020 to 2021. Their next position was at Castell in 2021-2022, where they served as a Data Science Director, focusing on building a team of data scientists and engineers and applying machine learning to solve value-based care problems. Currently, Phat Doan is the Head of Data at Lucerna Health, starting in 2022.

Phat Doan has a Master of Information and Data Science degree with a focus on Natural Language Processing from the UC Berkeley School of Information. Phat also holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. In addition, Phat has a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in Epidemiology from the University of Utah School of Medicine. Phat completed a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Utah. Furthermore, Phat has obtained certifications as a T-HAWK UAV Pilot from Honeywell International Inc. and as a TALON/PackBot Controller from the Military in August 2010.
