Dr James Hawkins

Dr. James Hawkins is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in the automotive and engineering sectors. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at Lucid Motors since November 2015, Dr. Hawkins has held various significant roles, including Director of the High Voltage Mechanical & Battery Group and Senior Technical Specialist in Chassis Engineering. Prior to that, Dr. Hawkins was a Senior Engineer at Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd, contributing expertise in subframes for all vehicle platforms. Dr. Hawkins' academic background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Bournemouth University and a Bachelor of Engineering with honors from the University of the West of England. Additional qualifications include language studies in Mandarin Chinese at Fudan University and Beijing Normal University. Past experiences also encompass engineering roles at Jaguar Land Rover, Motorola Solutions, and ALE, providing a well-rounded foundation in diverse engineering disciplines.
