Following that, they pursued further studies and earned a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) degree in Musicology from Brandeis University from 2009 to 2011.
In addition to their music education, Dewees also acquired a credential, the SB 2024 Preliminary Single Subject with English Learner Authorization Credential in Music and English, from California State University in 2007-2008.
Dewees has also obtained certifications in the field of fundraising and nonprofit management. In May 2022, they became Blackbaud Certified in Raiser's Edge NXT at the Professional Level. Kelly also holds a certification in Raiser's Edge Fundamentals from Blackbaud, although the specific date of completion is not provided.

The vision of the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health is that all children in the communities we serve are able to reach their maximum health potential. We are the sole fundraising entity for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford and the child health programs at Stanford University School of Medicine. We also operate a grantmaking program aimed at improving health care systems for children with special health care needs, and run kidsdata.org, a data resource on children's health.
