The history of Luís Simões begins in the 1930s, when Fernando Luís Simões and Delfina Rosa Soares, still teenagers, transported vegetables and fruit produced by their families by cart to the supply markets in Lisbon and Malveira. In 1945 they got married and started, at the same time, a horticultural activity and opened a grocery store. In 1948 Fernando Luís Simões ventures to obtain his driving license for heavy vehicles and the couple buys their first truck.
